Presence detectors
An presence detector is always comprised of one transmitter and at least two receiver chips with high quality optical systems. These are mounted on the sensor’s PCB (modular system) or integrated into a pre-assembled housing (individual sensors). The scanning range is set by means of a mechanical micro-speed unit by changing the angle between the transmitter and receiver. This optical procedure is called triangulation or optical differential measurement. Several beams can be combined in the modular system to form lines.
Presence detectors are ideal for edge and pinch protection on revolving and sliding doors and as ride-along anti-collision protection on swing doors. They can also be used for small areas such as kitchen and service areas of restaurants and hotels or as a person counter in shopping centers.
