Smart Sensing Solutions at the Security Exhibition & Conference 2026 in Sydney

Stronger presence in Australia with innovative smart sensing solutions
BBC Bircher Smart Access at one of Australia’s largest industry trade fairs for the second time.

BBC Bircher Smart Access will once again be represented at the Security Exhibition & Conference in Sydney in 2026. Following the successful premiere last year, the company is presenting its innovative access solutions for the second time this year – with a larger stand, new opportunities to exchange ideas and a comprehensive portfolio covering all aspects of door and gate automation and security.

From September 2 to 4, 2026, the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Sydney, Australia, will be all about security, secure access and building automation. The Security Exhibition & Conference is one of Australia’s most important industry meeting places and brings together exhibitors, trade visitors, customers, partners and media representatives to discover new solutions, explore business opportunities and discuss the latest developments in the security industry.

BBC Bircher Smart Access has been active in Australia for over three decades and is delighted to be back again this year. At stand J32, the company will be presenting its latest solutions for the automation and protection of doors, gates and barriers – including EasyLoop, FutureSense, SolidSense and the tried-and-tested ExpertSystem.

EasyLoop: precise vehicle detection

The new EasyLoop sensor secures and activates barriers and gates when vehicles are present. Its 79 GHz radar technology offers the optimum resolution for barrier and gate applications and enables precise and reliable differentiation between vehicles, pedestrians and environmental influences – completely without induction loops and regardless of weather, light conditions or other environmental conditions.

It is easily installed at a height of 80 cm above the floor. Parameters such as sensitivity or detection range can be conveniently configured via a mobile app.

SolidSense: maximum security for automatic doors

SolidSense is a two-sensor set for safeguarding automatic doors in accordance with EN 16005. It protects people from injury at the closing edges of swing and revolving doors. Each system combines maximum safety with convenience, accessibility and simple installation.

SolidSense works reliably in a wide range of application situations – regardless of surfaces, lighting conditions and other environmental conditions. Like FutureSense, SolidSense also impresses with its compact and discreet design, which allows it to be aesthetically integrated into any application.

FutureSense – intelligent radar sensor optimizes automatic opening

FutureSense

FutureSense is a multidimensional radar sensor for swing and revolving doors. The latest door activation technology based on FMCW (Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave) radar technology enables the analysis of human movement patterns. The system continuously monitors key movement parameters such as approach, direction and speed to detect a person’s actual intention to enter.

By distinguishing between random proximity and targeted movement, FutureSense only opens the door when it really needs to. This improves both energy efficiency and the user experience.
The precise movement data – including position, speed, direction and size – can be recorded and integrated into various other systems. Installation is particularly easy thanks to the FutureSense app: all field and area settings can be adjusted in real time to optimize activation and energy use.

ExpertSystem: the gold standard for door and gate security

Automatic doors and gates can be optimally secured with the UL and FCC-compliant ExpertSystem XL safety edges. Six profile heights, high sensitivity and soft deformation ensure maximum safety at automatic access points.

Thanks to their innovative and modular design, ExpertSystem XL safety edges enable flexible and efficient installation as well as reliable operation. Various delivery and mounting options offer additional customization possibilities. In combination with the ExpertSystem XRF radio transmission system, seamless and wireless installation is also possible in a wide range of application scenarios.
